Hyderabad Botanical Gardens
Botanical Gardens in Shibpur besides Hoogly River are also worth visiting. This is the first Botanical Garden in Andhra Pradesh that is coming up in stages in Kotaguda Reserve Forest near the Hi-tech city, Madhapur. The garden spread over 120 acres of undulating land and when completed will have 19 sectors or ‘Vanams’. The highlight of the Gardens is the 200 year old banyan tree, said to be the largest in the world.The tree is 26 metres high with a circumference of approximately 900 feet. 12 km from the city centre, on the banks of the Ganga, is the magnificent Dakshineswar Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali.

It is a beautiful lake located 20 kms west of Hyderabad city. It was constructed by Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VIIth Nizam of Hyderabad after the disastrous floods of 1908 by constructing a dam across river Musi. and planned by Mokshagundam Visweswarayya for supplying water to the city of Hyderabad.
